Post-Komikon 2009 Update!

Tue Oct 20, 2009, 3:44 PM
Sorry for the late update, people! I was having a nice warm rest. Haha! 8D

Anyway, I am giving all my gratitude to those who bought the second printing variant of Gwapoman 2000! It left me 20 copies out of 60! Wow! Again, I was amazed on how it was sold! Back at Metro Comic Con, 60 copies were sold so in total, 100 copies are in the hands of the people! Oh wait, I believe some people even bought the 2nd printing variant even though they already have the first printing! And I think some even bought it without knowing that it was just a reprinted edition. Sorry about that guys! ^^; Just tell me next time and I'll give you a discount! :D

There! I was really happy for all the people who got their books the attention they needed! And for the indies who got sold! It was an amazing convention with a lot of amazing titles! From Manix's 12 to Bujette's Trese (see what I did there?), Pinoy League of Heroes to Skyworld, Digmaang Salinlahi to Where Bold Stars Go To Die and a lot more! The indie booth was terrific once again having titles which are really awesome and creators which are really patient! Man! Thank you to Bayan Knights for being awesome once again! The Leinil Yu was nothing but brilliant! I don;t know what to say anymore. The convention was a major success!

Art auctions, contests and wait, cosplayers? Haha! I don't know but it seems off for me to see cosplayers at Komikon! Yes I know that even in San Diego, people cosplay there but a huge amount of people went with costumes last sunday! And there wasn't even a competition! I doubt that they didn't even know what they're getting into.

Disclaimer:
I'm not against cosplaying! I was just surprised that suddenly, tons of them popped into the scene!

Anyway, the con was awesome, the people were awesome, the merchandise was awesome. Need I say more? Komikon is getting more powerful each year! More power to you guys! And I think, the only ting needed for that convention is a second day! :D

Again, I thank you all for supporting the Filipino comicbook industry. :)

Mabuhay!

Gwapoman 2000 2nd Issue release pushed back!

Tue Oct 13, 2009, 2:03 PM
From October 18 to November 21!
That is the date for M3Con 2009.

Again, sorry for disappointing. As much as I would love to release it in the next convention, I can't. No, I don't have any problems at all, in fact, the book can push through. But I won't force myself. This is why:

While writing and illustrating this book, I was having fun. It is not my job to illustrate comicbooks... yet. Maybe in a few years, since it's what I really like to do and I don't like doing my job in an office. Doing my own book, Gwapoman 2000, it's a hobby. It's not "just a hobby" but "a hobby". I love telling stories, in anyway I can, and Gwapoman 2000 is all about stories. I have so much stuff to tell by using this book. From a guy with an ambition, a guy who thinks this world is poisoned, a woman who thinks she's all, a community who needs hope and so on. It's the most sensible hobby of all, I think.

From what I am doing, I realized, this is not just a book! It's my very own spawn of imagination that needs care for it to grow in a healthy way. And rushing it would damage not just a page but the very whole element and essence of the book. I am enjoying doing the book and I want you guys to enjoy it as well. It's my very own masterpiece and It's been a while since I had one. I'm putting everything I can in that book, every little detail that can create the whole soul of the book. There. Sorry for pushing back the release that, I hope and I believe that you guys understand. And I promise that you won't be disappointed when you get your copy of the book. That, I assure you.

But wait, there's more! A lot of you doesn't have a copy of the first issue of Gwapoman 2000. Have no fear! I have great stuff for you guys. It will be reprinted with a colored cover AND! AND! And redone pages for your aesthetic needs! Yes! Because me too, well, I'm a bit disappointed with some of the pages there. Unlike the second issue of Gwapoman 2000 which is really being so good while still in progress.

I know I can't please everyone but for those who like it, I would be grateful if you will love the book and I will be thankful for that. There's no other way of making you love the book other than doing the best I can in every panel. I dedicate the second issue to you guys. And the teaser cover!

I don't even know if I've explained myself but you guys probably get my point.
Well, that's all. See you at Komikon fellas!
